Here is a pic of the Magazine out of the gun. Overall length is 2.88 now. It would be easy to mill the spacer to 3.15 overall length.

    I have 3 molds in mind ,360-294-RN,
360-280-SP and 360-310-FN. These should work well within the 3.15 OAL. I would like to have the molds in hand and decide on exact length to have the throat cut.

I think the 1/11 twist would work for these bullets from 1000 to 1700 fps

I'm sure glad this topic came back to the top because I was just about to open a similar thread. I've got an M700 with a 24" #3 profile McGowan barrel that was put together for me by old Art, himself, back in 1984. I shot the gun in competition off and on for close to ten years and, after that, it sat in the safe for another fifteen, or so, until I became (re)involved with shooting cast. Near as I can figure, I've put something over 8,000 rounds through that tube and it's beginning to show some serious throat erosion. I was close to a decision on reboring to .358 Win and the info from this thread pretty much sealed the deal. Thanks to everyone who's contributed to this thread for the good information.

Is there enough meat on a Remington 700 youth 20 inch 243 barrel to rebore to 358? If so...I think that will be my 2018 gun resurrection.

Hold a .357" bullet up to the muzzle. That will tell you quick. My 22" Rem .243 rebored perfectly to .358 and I bet your 20" will as well.

I call jes the other day inquiring about another rebore Remington model 7 to .358 current muzzle measured .550 he said that works. I should have asked what his minimum is.
