    SS pins and/or other

SS pins in a barrel tumbler seems to be the best way (or neer best) to shine brass. I was just wondering is other metal pins would do the same job. Stailess steel is kinda soft, but I wondered about brass pins, aluminum pins, bronze pins, or any other metal pins. Not wood, that would not do much.
    Thanks

What SS pins brings to the table is that they dont corrode in the acidic enviroment of a brass tumbler.
I'm sure everything imaginable has been tested and found unsatisfactory.

Ceramic is another item some are using for wet tumbling.

All of those are softer than stainless steel.

Stainless pins can also be picked up with a magnet. Makes cleanup easier.

Why try to reinvent the wheel while the wagon is moving. The SS pins just plain work.
    Information not shared. is wasted.
