I am waiting for the .40 s&W version which will only require a different Barrel and Bolt Face which is changeable.

The .40 S&W mags are essentially the same as the 9MM mags and fit in the existing Glock mag well with no other mods.

If they do make it it will probably be the only variant with the possible exception of .357 Sig which uses the .40 S&W mags as well.

I was told the blowback action can't contain the 10 MM cartridge and .45 ACP has too much bolt thrust. They also would require a different mag well as both use Large Frame Glock Mags.

Well if a High Point can hold up in a 10mm and 45acp then anything can. Hummm I wish I could own a High Point carbine in my state. I also wish I could outlaw something the Gov. loves to show him how it feels.

Outer - I know about the different mag wells - that is why I ordered one. I have been looking since I heard about them. Got a chance to handle a few, yes it feels bulky and a little heavy to swing on a target (probably due to the bulky feel) but I think it will fit the bill very well. I will have to buy extra mags any way is why I will go with the Glock mags - more to choose from and cheaper than the Ruger mags. I had a hard time finding 9 round mags for my LC9S and then they were over $40 a piece.

    I do have 2 other PCC's. A MechTech for 1911 in 45acp and a Flint River Armory CS45.

The MechTeck shoots best with +P ammo and the mag restriction to 7, 8 or 10 rounds are why I looked for something else. Don't like +P ammo in my other 3 1911's.

I thought the CS45 would be great. 2 problems there - propritary mags of 25 rounds only and it tends to be finiky with ammo - no +P's and no big hollow points (Gold Dot, Serria, etc) no wide flatpoints like the RCBS 230 45CAS. Cast shoot OK as long as it is the Ball ammo style or a TC. The one load I got great accuracy from is 7.3 grains of Unique behind the Remington 185gr JHP. Sub inch at 50 - but I had to weigh each charge. 7.2 and 7.4 opened it up to 2-3 in at 50 (multiple tries there). And last but not least is I believe that Flint River Armory is out of business or going out of business. I went to there web site a few days ago and it appears as if they are selling off current stock.

All of my Glock (G19 and all G17) mags work with factory ammo and my 124 gr cast loads that chrono 980 ft/sec out of my G17 without leading in either the Ruger or Glock. Too much fun with the 32 rd mags as it sucks up ammo like no body’s business.

    That’s exactly what I did

I brought an extra few hundred 9mm rounds to the range last trip but this carbine seems to go through ammo way too fast... I don’t think those extra rounds lasted five minutes!

Definitely a fun gun; especially with a red dot sight, a couple 33 round mags and lots of steel targets at 25 yards.

Might get a 9mm Glock just so I can use one type of mag.

Is that a double stack mag? I will have to look into Ruger Mags.

Not trying to be what my wife refers to me occasionally as here, but I my past experience with Promags, they didn't work well for long, or at all.

They must have figured something out, or you got the one good one that escaped......

LOL Maybe I should send it back to them and tell them to find out what they did
right and make all the other ones like that from now on.

I posted this info in the "Canister and Surplus Powder" forum
but I thought I would also post it on this thread.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

I chronographed some loads today in the PC Carbine.
All loads were with AA #7 with the 115 grain Hornady HAP bullet.
The OAL for this loading was 1.100

    8.2 grains 1420 fps
    8.3 grains 1451 fps
    8.4 grains 1483 fps
    8.5 grains 1509 fps

    9.3 grains 1618 fps

The Speer manual that I have lists a Max load of 9.5 grains
for AA7 with a 115 grain bullet. The 9.3 grain load showed some
flattening of the primer but no cratering. I would consider
it a +P load however. The PC Carbine is rated for +P.

All of the loads showed good accuracy, with some showing
very fine accuracy. Of the load levels listed in this test the finest
accuracy was with the 8.2 and 8.3 grain loads, with accuracy similar to
the 8.7 grain load I shot last time and pictured in the post above.

I would rate AA#7 powder very high for this particular carbine.
Accurate with excellent speed. 1509 fps with a 115 grain
bullet is delivering 581 foot pounds of energy. 1618 fps
is delivering 669 foot pounds. Very efficient considering
case capacity of the 9mm Luger.

AA #7 being a slow powder relative to most powders
that are used for 9mm Luger indeed produced significantly
higher velocities in the 16 inch carbine barrel than the
same load would produce in pistol barrels. Whereas
faster powders show much less increase in velocity in
    carbine length barrels.

The rifle is holding zero and point of impact between trips.
I take down the rifle each time and keep it in a case.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this rifle. Surprisingly accurate
and a lot of fun to shoot. I am going to load the 8.2 grain
level of AA#7 for my plinking and target shooting.

The powder manufacturer lists 8.5 grains as max for a +P load using the Sierra 115 JHP.
That 9.3 grain load may be showing pressure signs for a reason.

Anyone shooting PCed boolits out of theirs? I plan on useing cast but am wondering if the normal sizing/lubing won't cause barrel leading when ripping through high capicity mags and the barrel getts hot.

I have used both lubed and PC bullets with my (3) 32 round mags emptied back to back without leading when the barrel was too hot to hold on to.

As mentioned, I’ve seen no leading either. I have a sea of steel at range to plink. Back to back emptying of Glock big sticks as fast as I can move the dot. No leading with Hi-Tek bullets and barrel is way too hot to touch.

Thank you to both JMax and razorfish for your responses. Good information.
Guess I will just start out with plain cast/lubed.
