Ditto it needs some loving. Not like the new 336 I bought new in 1995
I'll play,
I picked,
up a BEAUTIFUL Henry steel Big Boy in .327fed/mag
a Henry Big Boy brass in .357mag
a Marlin 1895 in .45-70govt
a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington (took 2 doe in rapid succession this season)
and an old Savage model 74 this is a falling block single shot .22Lr, but it has a lever to actuate the falling block.
Yes, I too really enjoy my levers...
I added a Winchester (Miroku) 1895SRC in .30-40 Krag and one or two Winchester 94 Trappers in .30-30, seriously I don't remember if it was one this year or two... One was this summer the other was end of last year or early this year.
I bought a Henry steel Big Boy a few months back in 44 mag - that gun is awesome.
I bought a Marlin 1895 a couple weeks back and am going to pick it up tomorrow (waiting period - meh). I do have some boolits to shoot out of it, though!

picked up a never fired 1962 win mod 94 in 32 spl. and a almost new (1992) browning mod 1886 SRC.in 45/70.
The browning shoots better than my Marlin cowboy in 45/70.
I have bought and traded a few this past year (3) 94 Wins all post 64 30/30s, (2) Marlin 1895s
both Remlins (1) Marlin Glenfield 30a JM, (1) Marlin 375 JM (1) Sav 99 in 303 and not a keeper
in the bunch. Would have kept Sav 99 but it was a little rough.
I was going to reply to this thread a couple days ago but it's a good thing I waited...I bought and sold a Savage 99 in .300 sav. Earlier in the year, picked up a 1950 Marlin 336 30-30 a couple months back, and just yesterday I picked up a Remlin 1895G 45-70 at a local show. It's safe to say my levergun obsession is continuing to spiral out of control...

Marlin 36, .30-30 half magazine rifle. With a tang sight, it shoots extremely well, slick as can be.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.
Finally got the coveted Marlin in 45 Colt. Shoots like a dream, and easy to reload those cast bullets for!

Picked up two this last year a 1958 savage 99 in 300 savage and a 70 vintage Mossberg mod 402 palomino in 22 long rifle both are real nice condition
I bought 3, sold 1 and gave one to my grandson. I bought and sold a Marlin 357 to a friend, we have kept passing this rifle back and forth between each other for a few years. Found a Savage 99 in 300 Savage that was in good shape, it is now with my grandson in Alaska. Finally, I found a 1948 Winchester '94 in 30WCF that is in almost pristine condition, with the minor exception of being 3 years too old, it has been my "grail gun" for a very long time. I'm happy with it. I think it is referred to as being a 'tweener, not drilled in tang or receiver and a flat barrel band. It tickles me that it really likes the Lyman 175 gr. flat point! With me at the wheel, it is a consistent 2" gun @ 100.

I drank the 45-70 coolaid and bought a new 1895GBL
Yes I did. Mine is a 1917 vintage savage takedown in 250-3000. I have shot it. With cast a neat triangle at 50 yards with the edges almost touching each other. Shoots 75 and 90 grain jackets well also. since it has the slow twist 100 gr. not so well.
Trying but striking out. Been beating the bushes for a Marlin 35 Rem rifle (24" bbl) ---- no joy !
Seems to have been a bit of an "off" year, can only recall purchasing one levergun in 2017. Quick records check revealed a few more. The one I recall best is an 1894 chambered in 38-55 built in 95. Yes, 1895.

The Marlin 1895 is a really nice rifle.
The fit/finish is good, the rifling is nice and it shoots really well.

Just bought a 1895 GBL .45-70 for the Deer.
Had an 1889 Marlin in .32-20 re-lined and re-stocked.... So it is "half" new. Was in rough shape, no real collector value. Bad wood, cut down barrel and magazine, along with a hand full of boogered screws.
Still a cool old gun from a Montana sheep herder...
Purchased a Marlin 1894ss round barrel in December unfired and in the original box. A friend bought it about 10 years ago and never cocked it once. Fired a couple of rounds through it and it shoots pretty good. Now that I have some more time to spare I will do some testing and use it for fun. I also have a Winchester lever in 22mag and a Marlin Glenfield 30A I have had for 40 years. Bought it from a friend that used it for hunting one season and didn't shoot it at all. Paid $125.00, it was scoped and 60 rounds of ammo.
