I recently bought a Rossi 92 in .357mag/38spl, action is real smooth and finish is great.
I could do without the safety doodad on the bolt but that's not Rossi's fault since it's mandated.
Very nice gun at a good price.

I purchased two new-to-me leverguns this year (2020):

    Browning M53 32-20
Browning M71 (high grade) in .348, of course!

I just received my Skinner bolt peep for the M71 and will be taking the rifle in for drilling/tapping this week.

As long as I am defacing the rifle with a bolt peep, I am going to go ahead and have it reamed out to Ackley Improved. I won't buy a gun I can't shoot, and if I am going to shoot it, I'm going to have fun with it!

I really like the idea of reduced bolt thrust...especially when running at top speeds.
    Scrounging for pb...

    Me too and same.

Wouldn't mind one in .45 or .454 to match it. And maybe a 16" too.

Only thing I did was change the extractor spring and rock on with it. It's really smooth and great.

Marlin 336 BL, 30-30 with big loop lever, 18" barrel and plywood stock. Cheap enough @ $530 plus shipping and transfer. It is a Remlin so I won't feel too bad if I rechamber it to either 30-30AI or 307 Winchester. Already mounted a Williams Fire in the Hole combo scope mount and peep sight on it.

I picked up a Stoeger/Uberti 1876 in 50-95. I got it on an on-line auction for a little over half of retail. It had one minor scratch in the stock, I think it was un-fired likely do to the difficulty in finding ammo. It has been a lot of fun to shoot and load for.

Right at a year ago, I bought this Marlin 1894S in .41 Magnum...one that I'd been looking for since they came out in the mid-80's. Initially, I had some problems with the carrier hanging up while cycling, but a local smith and a good clean out solved that problem. Got my deer last year with it, using a Hornady 210 gr XTP too. You can see the saddle ring I installed to replace the Safety button, as well as the Williams FP receiver sight.

I've replaced the latter with a Skinner for a cleaner receiver area. For working up loads, I used a a Weaver top mount with a Leupold 2.5x or 4x 7/8" dia. Alaskan scope. Really a nice set up for hunting and load work, and not much bulkier than the naked receiver. 1st Pic with the Williams FP, and the 2nd shows it with the a 2.5x Leupold Alaskan; the Marlin below it is a 336 in .44 Magnum, again with a 2.5x Leupold Alaskan mounted...checkering was done by previous owner...a hellofa checkerer, I'd say.... Best Regards, Rod

Those 53's are nice, the feel and function great.

I picked up a 2nd year deluxe win 71 with the bolt peep this year and that peep really helps pick up targets fast. Also picked up a mArlin 1893 mfg in 1895 takedown in 32-40, but punched it out to 38/55.

Nothing special, put picked up a second JM Marlin 30-30 about a month ago and came home with a 444 made in 1978 yesterday. Something new to experiment with.

    Cimarron 1894 rifle in 38-55 and a Uberti rifle 1876 in 50-95.
The 1894 is very nice, better than I expected.

I bought this 1982 vintage Marlin .44 Mag earlier this fall. I was lucky enough to take a doe with it on opening morning.

I also got a Rossi in 357/38 special with 20 inch barrel. Slicked up the action and it will feed most everything. I already had one in 44 mag with 16" barrel that I put a pistol scope on for a scout carbine but prefer the longer barrel with open sights.......old eyes

I bought a Rossi 92 in .44-40, Octagon 24" barrel, made before the safety. It goes with the 20" octagon barreled Rossi .44-40 made before the safety. Marlin 45 Colt Cowboy, and custom Marlin 95 with 30" barrel in .45-70. Also a Uberti Model 73 in .44-40. There are also an old Marlin in .25-20 and a new NRA Marlin in .25-20. I like lever action rifles, have several more not listed.

Picked up a Henry 327 Federal 16" carbine this year. Haven't shot it yet but would love to get out and blast some water jugs at 100 yards. The walnut on this rifle is really nice.
