Have had no luck with Savage inc, as the have nothing older than 1957. I am looking for info on where to find a manual for this rifle, and/or disassembly instructions.

There is an instruction manual on ebay that came with the rifle but I don't know if it includes disassembly instructions.
Do a search for Savage instruction manual.
FOUND ONE! Thru a friend with a copy that allowed me to peruse it. Its in the: Firearms Assembly: The NRA Guide to Rifles and Shotguns, Revised and Expanded Edition. Ordered one from A-zon. Happy dance done here.
