Annealing machine build

Hi everyone.

Has anyone built an annealing machine with all the features like this one?

There are a bunch of people that have built them. And there are plenty of designs online. The motor control is the simplest part. It's one board, w/ a rheostat to control it. Look for a DC motor speed controller on Amazon or eBay. They're cheap and combined w/ a DC motor, again cheap, are all you need.

I personally bought an Annealeez because I didn't have time to build one. It's one of the simpler designs out there.

I built one but without the hopper, just the basics, to get a feel for it. I did a quick & dirty build and it works well. Using 2 different pans cut to height I can do from 300BO to 458WM in length.

I prefer placing each piece of brass by hand as the added complexity of the feeder and range of brass lengths & diameters I do would make the feeder a problem area, IMO. The cost for the main parts was $50.11 from amazon in 2015.

The electrical & electronic bits are very simple and easy to do and the bulk of the effort is in building the unit. PM me if interested in the parts list of what I used.

I have most of the parts, its just hooking the pieces up without something to look at is a bit challenging. I like the wheel in this annealer, dont even know what to search for online as I have never seen one like this.

I know which annealer it is, I have seen that wheel on other videos of people building their annealers. Thats what made me think that its possibly a part out there thats sold.

Lots of folks have built this style. It requires nothing other than adjustment of torch and speed to go from 17 hornet to 50 BMG.

I little more stuff to swap around on the case fed one though.

There is a sticky in this forum that has many different versions of the same machine made from wood, shelving, all sorts ways to accomplish the job, like many other threads photobucket has ruined.

I have made one like it. There is a thread on ar15.com about it. The one I made I only used 1 controller and hooked the feed motor on a proximity switch . Stanford, I built one like you posted. If I built another I would run the big wheel and case feeder wheel off the same motor, say with a pulley or gear setup. I find as the cases get lower the speed changes and messes with the timing between the two so I'm constantly adjusting the speed on the case feeder.

Anotherred , go to the link I provided and go to page 8 . About 3/4 way down look for the post by Mozella. He describes the use of the proximity sensor that does away with the speed controller for the feed drive.
