    Dropout Spray?

Just getting ready to start some tumble coating with a setup from smoke. In lieu of nonstick foil, could one just spray Midway Dropout graphite mould release on the baking tray? I'm going to start with a bunch of .38 wadcutters I've had lying around.

I managed to find a nice Black and Decker oven at a local thrift shop for $10, which I have to test for heating precision or lack thereof. The interior looked like it had never been used.

Check the heat and set the dial where a thermometer on the shelf you will bake on reads 400°

I use bake trays like this

    And use this coating method

If you make sure all the excess powder is knocked of you will have almost no sticking or marks

to go along with Grmps' method I will roll the bullets in a wooden box, 2" sides, to break any that might have stuck together
roll just enough to separate them and let them cool in the box (really more like a wooden tray with 2" sides)

With bare base casts I like a coating on the bottom of the cast. What I discovered is parchment paper works much better than non stick aluminum. Nothing sticks to the parchment paper and the coating on the bottom of the casts actually smooths out to a even coat. I usually get 6-7 trays cooked before changing out the parchment paper. Try it...you'll be amazed.
