I use these for rural lion hunting, primer only, sort of like a catch & release hunting.

Now you know why his wife keeps his tools locked in the safe. When unlocked he just really gets out of hand. That was pretty cool though.

put a buffer card under the plugs and you won't get the hole in them.

OK this is NOT a new concept. Speer made and probably still makes plastic projectiles that could be shot with a primered brass case. I had a target setup for shooting my .44 Rem Mag Ruger in my basement. The target was a cardboard box with an inner tube cut in strips to catch the projectiles to prevent bouncing back to you. It is well known a primer has enough power to lodge a bullet in the barrel, ask me how I know (yep Rugers are well made)! However, having access to a bunch of old ear plugs, this looks like cheap fun! And I like the idea of a cardboard wafer behind the plug!

Speer also made plastic cases with plastic bullets for indoor use....propelled by a primer. The bullet trap was a throw rug hanging behind the paper target.

If you have trouble getting an earplug to stay in your ear, this may be a way to insert if more effectively.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

you'd have to squish it down and get it done pretty quickly..

I have a box full of the speer capsules for my 45 colt revolvers, I drilled the flash holes out on the cases I use with them, and keep everything together in a shoe box.

I bet my mom can get a lot madder when she catches someone having a shoot out with their little brother in her basement, than his wife can about some paint removal.
you'd think a couple of in their 40's grown men would be above getting a cuff behind the ear.
it was worth it to see little bro's wife shoot some diet coke out her nose though.

Was surprised that he had no hearing protection even with just primers.
