My new air tank arrived today, ups dropped it off about 10 am.
Had much to do, clearing snow, taking the dogs for a walk and driving mama around.
Got the box opened about 3:30. Made over to the local fire chief's business, I asked him if he could fill my tank, he asked me several questions about my tank and fittings.

He said he would be glad to fill it but his system is 3000psi. He did tell me which local fire depts. had 4500 psi systems. So maybe tomorrow, then again maybe later than that, the roads might be pretty icy tomorrow.

I shot springers all my life and 5 years ago hurt my back and can not break a springier any more, so sold my springiers and brought a Marauder, air tank and shoe box compressor. best thing I ever did. No going back for me.

Got my tank filled today, it took a little chasing around, the compressor was at an unmanned fire station.
Next time I want to fill the tank it was recommended that I come on Wednesday evening during regular training session.

I asked if I should bring pizza since I can't bring beer. They said, they had supper as part of training and if I wanted to bring something bring a dessert, like cookies or doughnuts.

How many guys show up for Wednesday night training? 25-40.

Ouch! Pie for 40 guys is not gonna be a cheap tank fill!

When I first fell in to the hole . I bought a 80 cf scuba tank and had to drive 25 miles round trip to get it filled every other day . I added up the cost of gas and the fill price . Bought a army surplus compressor that would fill the 3000 psi tank . Then the big bores entered the heard and 2 more tanks and a booster pump . Compressor more than paid for its self before it lost a rod through the pan . Sold the booster pump . Bought the Nardi compressor A 88 cf 45000 psi tank and 2 90 ci 4500 psi tanks . I do have 3 scuba tanks that I need to locally sell that need a test . It has been a 13 year journey or more by now . But we learn as well go . Back then air gunners and 4500 psi tanks were not a common couple . Marvin
