    lee pro 1000 ???

    which end of the Z bar goes into the shell slider ?? long or short end

    The small one from memory, the longer end goes into the aluminium part with the spring under it.

    took tazza recomendation flipped it over bent it a few more times
    works well now with the long end on top the sizing die keeps it in place

    Good to hear it's working well. I found if things weren't just right, mine would pop out of the slider too.

    TurtleZX, you can get a replacement Z bar, free, from Lee, all you need to do is pay the shipping-- not a good idea to bend the Z bar yourself, as it may deform the hole in the aluminum bar holder above the spring, on the column. It would also be a good idea to order in the aluminum piece that holds the Z bar, they do wear out, and the price is right!
