    Question bullet

I have come across several hundred of these bullets that i believe are Lyman # 457483. My question is are these GC designed or can they be loaded say with 2400/25gns, they average 390 grains. Would like to shoot them up for a plinking load - thanks guy's.

Thank you, I thought so. Can they be safely shot without the GC?

they can but 8-900 fps would be the window they would most likely work in.

It really would not make any difference what cartridge he is shooting, because any cartridge of that caliber would do just fine at 8- 900 fps.

Been shooting that bullet in the 45-70 for 47+ years. Runfiverun is essentially correct. With 2400 powder you will find using a GC is best. W/o a GC try 8 - 10 gr Unique. Tilting the barrel up to position the powder uniformly will help.
