Idea.......after sizing 10k 9mm bullets w harbor freight red and yellow and my sizing die still shows it sizes .357 as it did when I bought it I’d say it’s a non issue

Just a note, less friction will often reduce vel not increase it with the same powder charge. Look at the Barnes loading data for moly vs no moly bullets. Pressure equals vel, all things being the same. So reduce the pressure by a "slicker" bullet, vel should go down. A 5-10fps diff is within the shot to shot variation.

I've been kind of curious to wear subject also, this is what we like to hear. I have no doubt that I will never see the amount of rounds as igolfat8.

Walt you must of missed the memo. When firing depleted uranium boolits one must apply thick coat PC.

Nope, nothing but burnt powder residue left in my barrels.

Federal came out with a line of PC bullets and obviously has the money and means for thorough testing, which they did before marketing the product. With the same powder charge you will see approximately a 5% increase in velocity and a cooler barrel. That translates into less friction on the barrel surface. I found the increase in velocity using PC years ago not 5-10 fps, but and increase of 50+ fps. far more than standard deviation.

This is another reason that you cant just take your favorite lubed load PC and compare accuracy .. The PC'ed bullet will be faster thus your barrel harmonics have changed .. You will most likely have to start load development all over
