    Deer with .45-100 Paper Patch

Shot this doe at about 100 yds with my Shiloh Sharps 28" barreled .45-100 using a 511 gr paper patch bullet over 81 grs of Kik FFFg powder. She was quartering hard right and the bullet entered behind the right side ribs and exited just to the right of the front left shoulder. She went about 15 yds and piled up.

Congratulations on the 100 yard kill on a nice deer. Both your rifle and load are very interesting and I enjoy hearing your story. Good Job! Give us some more info on putting your loads together. I would like to try paper patching some cast lead projectiles for my 45-70. Although its a Browning 1885 and has a very short throat. I would like to see some pictures of you projectiles and how you paper patch them, along with wads used and lubrication of anything?

    Very nice, enjoy the bounty.

Glad you got enough penetration with that little boolit.
