Has Anyone Killed Any Game With The New NOE 360-310 FN Thumper Yet?

Just wondering if anyone has killed any game with the new NOE 35 Thumper boolit yet? I never made it to the regular firearms season this year and shot my one allowed firearms deer with a ML. Would love to hear about your hunts.

Nope, not yet. Waiting on my 358 winchester to come home. I hope to be able to shoot the hollowpoint version subsonic if it will stabilize. If not, I'll either sell it or maybe have it milled to throw a lighter, shorter boolit. Although, 290+ grains at 1600-1800 oughta give quite a wallop on a deer or hog. If it will stabilize in a 14 twist.

Miller stability gives me a 2+ on stability, and I hope that is correct. We'll see.

Sometime back I built my 5 yr old grandson a rifle. I took the first big game with it this weekend.
It's not a Brontosaurus but I was pretty proud.

    Good morning
150 years ago our Army was running pendulum tests (cast projectile impacts on steel pendulums) which established that long cast continued forward momentum throughout the length of the bullet on the target. That is what penetration is all about. The longer the slug the more stored energy in the total length. That is why the caliber 45 superceded the caliber 50 in our military rifles. Penetration was the solution for eliminating the excellent calvary combatants hanging on the far side neck on the pony they rode.
The m1A Abrams tank uses the same technology today. That 120mm cannon fires a 37mm penetrator that focuses all that 5000 fps at the point / front of that projectile. Not much man made construction can stop it.
So as we well know... speed is not everything. Focused "long" speed on a narrow front will push through some tough resistance and emerge task completed. How I enjoy a well marked red highway leading me through the bushes, leaves and behind logs.

5 shot. Head and shoulder or full body mount?
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.

Went in low on the neck and after taking out the vitals, was found just under the hide in the far side ham.

I don't have room for a full mount, so I am having a rug made.
