Great shooting! My signature line will fill in the rest of my thoughts on the 357
    The .357 Magnum......
    1935
Major Douglas Wesson, using factory loads, which were a 158 gr. soft lead bullet, traveling 1515 fps, from an 8 3/4" barreled S&W, producing 812 ft. lbs of muzzle energy.
    Antelope - 200 yards (2 shots)
    Elk - 130 yards (1 shot)
    Moose - 100 yards (1 shot)
    Grizzly Bear - 135 yards (1 shot).

It kind of makes one wonder, why today, it will bounce off anything bigger than a rabbit

I got this little guy a few years ago with a
    .41 mag jacketed bullet.
It's going to be cast boolits next time! I just have to round up another Blackhawk- I've traded them away sadly.
Envy the HUGE rack on this guy....

I've not killed one in a while but, have killed 2 with my Security Six. Worked fine.

I love to hear the citidiot stories of 250lb. armor plated deer. In a capable persons hands it is more than enough gun for the average southern deer.

I hate to wander off topic but this year the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan has banned the following for use on any big game including deer and bear, 32-20,357 mag.,41 mag.,44-40, 45 Colt's. These would be rifle cals. as handguns cannot be used to hunt in Canada. So be thankful that you live in a somewhat "free country".
