    chrismas present moss. 500

    yay! it is a 12 ga 28in barrel complete with cyl. imp., mod, full chokes, and has a second bead halfway up the rib, which helps. the imp cyl. choke shoots preety good with Winchester X rifled slugs. my question was, with 004 buckshot and larger, which choke is the best? to be safe I shot a couple (two) 00buck with the imp. cyl. from 40 yards, they have 9 pellets each and I got 6 hits on a medium box (9X12") would modified be better? would full be safe? thanks a lot-Travis

    yeah, but sometimes it only takes one.... that's why I am asking those who have more shotgun experience. dunno if buck through a full choke would deform, creating poor patterns, or creating high pressure.

    Yes it is safe to shoot o/of full choke for OO. Shooting paper is the only way to find what your gun likes best. Welcome to the BIG LEAD forum, where real men weigh their loads i ounces!
