If you are near a coast... watch craigslist for old sailboats that people dont want... there are plenty. its a lot of work but after 2 or 3 you are all set... you and your buddies. i still have a keel that somebody is using as ballast for their dozer to drag cordwood through their swamp while its frozen. With a chainsaw... a little keel, goes a long way.

Rotometals is still an option. But at a much greater cost, for me anyway. Just shy of $2 a pound shipped to my house. The cost to have it shipped to a freight terminal, where I have to pick it up, isn't low enough to have it shipped that way. I'm sure I could call them and have them mix the exact alloy I want instead of choosing one that isn't exact. Looks like it's time to find another foundry on the east coast.

OG Kelly is owned by a much larger company. I wonder if they're the ones that shut down small orders.

I have been doing business with these folks since 1987, never go any where else, and I don't have time to deal with the jerks at our local scrap yards and I get 0 waste and Cert. with every load of lead telling me what in the alloy . 7 point test I think...

SEAFAB metals, Casa Grande Az. 800-426-7082
they have pure and 6/2 Hard cast bullets lead- mix 50-50 or 60-40 ( hard to soft) makes for great shot...

OG Kelly was a family business and he suffered health issues causing him to close down and auction his equipment off. I had them mixing lead for me for years and was sorry to see him close. I may never find someone to do custom mixes so cheap ever again <sniff>

That's still quite small. For a caster it's a lot. But for a business that would be tiny. Regardless it sucks to see them shut down.

lead is getting so scarce even the fishing stores are running out of lead fishing weights.
