favorite way to carry a 7.5" blackhawk

Or any single action revolver. Bumming around the woods, in a vehicle, wearing a backpack. Something that can be out of the way but available (doesn't need to be too available) in the case of want (need, but really, want).

I'm leaning crossdraw on a belt, because my belts ride above the hips and I am thin, so they physically cannot ride down. Not 100% sure about riding in a truck though. I thought it would work, but google tells me otherwise.

I'd really prefer some leather to be available from the more common leather producers, and I just can't warm to the chesty puller, I don't need it front row center on my body, it's not for specific handgun hunting. Just bumming around.

    Thoughts?

I have a leather holster that rides strong side for my 4-5/8" BH. Which is my favorite length.

I like strong side draw when carrying, but you can't beat chesty when riding/driving. I know you said you didn't like that, but there's my .02
    KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.

I do like it for my 3.5". I bet it would work great for a 4-5/8 too. Sourdough pancake. It's great.

No go for a 7.5. Thus, the thread.

On 7.5" when hunting I use a simply rugged holster with shell loops on the holster in a chesty puller chest carry rig. Lets me use both hands and keeps the gun under my coat and dry. On shorter barrels I use simply rugged holsters carried cross draw so I can access my right pocket if I need to.

I carry mine in a shoulder holster. It is out of the way for most activities.

Galco Kodiak, keeps it just up and away from the waist and quick access. Although not cheap.

I find crossdraw the only way to carry a 7.5" Revolver.

Crossdraw on stand and walking the woods.

I have a chest rig for my Blackhawk that works great for me. Hands free when I'm walking an it don't get in the way when I want to sit down
