I get great results with the Lee 309-170F (gas checked). I've also tried 311284GC and thy were very accurate-- but they are so long I had to trim the brass slightly under normal length to be able to crimp and still have them fit the clips (otherwise they clip would not go into the receiver).

LEE makes an affordable 200gr copy of the Lyman 311299 for you to experiment with. I would also recommend the Lyman 311291 (170gr Round nose design) as well as LEE's 155gr C.E. Harris designed spirepoint. I haven't used my Lyman 311413, 175fe Spirepoint yet in 30-06 loads but it works great in my 308 Winchester AR10 at 100 yards if I keep velocity around 1600fps.

It's hard to beat the Lyman 311299 mold for the M1 Garand. It's been time tested and proven.

For me, the 311284 mold was best for the M1.

I had better success with the 311299 in the '03A3

I once had a 311334 that worked quite well . The one you ordered should be great for the purpose intended .
