Traveling to Texas, looking for suggestions on places to hunt Hogs

Good Morning, I am going to be flying to Lubbock, TX at the end of the month for meeting and tour of some dairy farms, and am looking to extend my stay by an extra two days to try my hand at hog hunting. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for low to moderately priced outfitters somewhere within a 5-6 hour drive of Lubbock, ideally in the direction of a major airport. Not looking for a trophy hunt, just a reasonable chance of getting something in two days of hunting.

Thanks for the tip I'll give them a call tomorrow. So far not having much luck, I guess my trip lines up with turkey season and spring break

http://www.dbhunting.com/index.html These folks are just northwest of Austin and might be able to accommodate you.

Call the chamber of commerce at Canadian, you should check Abilene as well, either one will likely put you on to a few names.

Try Independence Ranch 832-419-6151 one day and three day hunts. Gonzales. Texas. Just East of San Antonio. I loved Texas. Loved the blue bells. Rest areas were a combo of rest area slash storm shelter....,now that is just plain smart.

There are hogs around Lubbock and Abilene, the trick is finding an outfit to get you on them. They are pretty much nocturnal now so NV works best. Hard to do on a 2 day hunt. Actually your dairy farm people might put you on to an outfitter.
    Whatever!

Just curious, which direction. My place in New Mexico is just 160 miles out of Lubbock, but I have not been there in several years. We were just starting to get hogs there when I moved up here.

At an invitation from good friend Harter66 I hunted at the independance ranch outside of Gonzales TX spring before last. Good prices, decent food, bunkhouse accomodations and a real good time. 500 acres of fenced hunting mostly from stands with a midday of walk and stalk that I really enjoyed. No shortage of pigs and lots of exotics to observe, and shoot if you have deep pockets. Blackbuck, scimitar horned oryx, rocky mt elk, I even saw a couple of watusi cattle. Worth a look.
