    First Centerfire Cast Boolit Kill

Today I got this fellow with my 357 Mag. Tender . Shot was at 30yd. , hit him toward the back part of the lungs . I had him stopped then he took another step which put his front shoulder behind a tree . I knew he was hit hard , he went about 80 yd's and was done . Very little expansion if any , didnt hit any ribs . Load was NOE 180 WFN-GC 50/50 COWW &2%tin / pure , water cooled then noses tempered over 13.8 gr. H110 lit with a CCI mag primer.

First try with tinypic , cell phone pic maybe thats why its on the side.

Good shooting; still waiting to take one with my contender. Our 357 wheel guns shoot a very similar load and boolit for serious work, it's accurate in about everything I've tried it in.

Good job on a nice buck. Living in NV I realize that there are many hunters back East jealous of my having the western hunt experience each time I go afield, but I envy the relatively short ranges that woodlots and tree stands afford the cast boolit hunter. It is difficult to limit shots to 100 yards or less here. I have been fortunate enough to have taken a couple mulies, 2 Texas wild pigs and a doe antelope with cast, but every year I see so many pictures and stories on this board and wish I had more stories to contribute.

Nice work! I've a 357 octagon barrel I want to hunt some with, they sure are nice to hunt with. Now, it sure must be steep terrain in your woods, shoot that hill your on looks straight up
Just noticed your sling, I've also found that they sling better than holster, especially scoped.

Nice job, I use the same bullet in my 77/357. As you proved, it works great on deer.

    Good afternoon and Congratulations !
Popping corn crunchers with hand guns is a fun way to get it done. End up with a buck is 10x better.
Your cast was well prepared for the task. Maybe the next one will be a clear shoulder or chest shot.

I am casting the same bullet NOE 360-180 for my 357 Maximum Contender barrel and for a CVA Scout 357 Maximum. Both handgun length. This is about as good a hunting bullet as you can cast for a 357/358 handgun in my opinion.

Nice buck with a handgun! And using cast bullets on top of that.
