    New Taurus m85 problem

New m85 will fire three shots perfect then two keyholes with 4.7 gr unique 158grhornady or speer swchp. Doesn't do it with j bullets any ideas ? Don't want to send it back because it has great double and single action trigger pull I don't want messed up.

Strange. No leading? How about trying a different bullet and/or load?

Are the key hole shots always coming from the same chambers or does it matter? Could be some of the chamber throats are small???? I'm no expert, but I think I'd keep careful track of my shots a few times and see if it's a problem with the same chambers.

Lets see - 11 posts. We don't know you. We don't know if you know how to slug a barrel or what tools you may or may not have. We have machineists on the board who know how to measure, me, I'm a psychologist and measuring is not my forte! When you say "same chambers" we have no idea what you, in fact, are saying. Are you trusting Taurus to have all the chambers the same? Ruger isn't trustworthy in this aspect of gun making, why should we trust Taurus?

    A little more detail, please.

I think he understands what the problem is and it's an easy enough gun smithing task to ream the chambers to all be uniform if he wants to pursue it.

My CCW piece is a little Taurus 85 and I like it. Nothing special about it, but it's small, very light and handles +P. I can hit as well with it as any similar snub I've ever shot and never had any trouble with it.
