NOE .41 Mag SWC HP Deer

Last summer a friend of mine bought the .41 Keith SWC HP mold upon my recommendation. I ran him off about 700 bullets ladle cast with 50/50 WW/PB alloy. Well my buddy made me proud this morning when this 3-point came within about 30 yards. One shot just offcenter with the deer facing him. Deer took one jump and piled up. Exit was about a 3/4 inch hole at the back of the left sided ribs. He said the insides were jelly. It's his first handgun deer. I am very, very proud of him and wish him many more quick kills.

Good shot, good eating, and good to get that one out of the breeding buisness. I sure miss my .41 mag- I love that cartridge.

    The deer is like:

    Seriously? forty-ONE magnum?
    Who does that?

Great job for your friend with a great cartridge.

He uses 296. I am not sure of the exact charge. It sure worked good, though.

If I wasn't solidly .44 I would have no qualms about hunting with a .41. Good results.

I believe the weight was 220 grains. The way he described the internal damage and exit hole it was absolutely perfect performance. I hope to find out on the .44 version of that mold over the next week as I am off work.

.41 will sure do the job. Before I narrowed down to .357 and .44s only for simplicity, I had three different .41s, two Rugers and a S&W. Only shot one deer with .41, but it performed admirably. Good work on this one! Love me some sixgun deer hunting.
