    NOE endorsement.......again

Just broke in my mould from NOE .454-280 PB, WFN, 50/50 Pb/ww, alox/beeswax, 20 grains of 2400, not sure of the velocity, but accurate. The rifle was a Marlin "cowboy" in .45 Colt. Both were just below a hundred yards, one dropped at the shot, the other trotted 20 yards into the middle of the biggest blackberry thicket I ever saw and keeled over. The only negative I have for this bullet is it's just a tad long to feed in my '92 Winchester. Thank you Al, you did real good with this one.Attachment 208693

Is Ohio one of the states only allowing straight walled cartridges below a certain length now?

Congrats on the meat, looks like you did all your homework and came up with a winning combo. I have a Rossi 92 in .45 Colt and I wouldn't be able to take a shot that far, at least not with the open sights.

No length restrictions, just diameter. Any straight wall case from .357 to .502. I bumped into a guy last year using .38 special in a rifle. A bit light for my taste.

Could you use 45 Schofield brass and rework the load to make it work in your Marlin? I used 44 spec brass to make work in my rossi. Just asking, I really have no idea it that brass is strong enough.

Maybe trim some cases so they fit with that bullet and keep separate just for that load.

Great job Jeff Michel !! I'm glad to see Ohio has finally done the right thing the last few years with straight walled cartridges. When they passed the law, I worked up my loads for my .44 mag. Glad to see you have a freezer full of meat also.

Good work. I like the WFN design but in TN you can't hunt with a solid. Glad NOE offers HP bullet molds.
