I let a couple bucks go this year but on my last day to hunt I made the martini make smoke. I received allot of help on this forum regarding loads for the Martini 577-450 cartridge.

I bet that was fun! I'm a single shot nut. Have a Martini-Enfield that I built back in '69 with an Ackley barrel chambered in 30/40AI. I also use a Cadet, one of those that was imported and rebored to take .357Mag, has a PH rear sight, I put on a PH target front sight from my junk drawer and rechambered to .357Max. Both are scary accurate with my loads. Love to tell folks that I bring 2 cartridges, one up the pipe, the other in my pocket. Have never needed the spare. GW

Nice! Congratulations. I have a Gahendra Martini but have never tried using her. I figure she's earned her rest, after my restoration of her. Should fire though...
Bulldogger
THhis gun shoots high. I was aiming at the brisket and got a centre hit. 470gr Pp with 85gr Ffg. I used foam backer rod as a 'filler'. The foam backer rod idea I got here and it really improved my groupings. I shot a buck last yr with a 43 Beaumont. That was fun as well. I let my second buck walk when I had my snider. I just thought I would see a bigger one but I ran out of days.
Guns aren't happy in the closet This one got soaking wet in a snowfall.
Well Done sir!! i love seeing martinis still out there getting the job done.
Cheers
That is way cool !
How neat is that? Possibly the first Deer ever killed with that gun? Are Martinis as common as Sniders and Lee Enfields in Canada?
Taking game with a true antique gun is a rush.
Martini's are not that common but enfields are everywhere I personally have 5. Got my moose a couple yrs ago with a no1 mk3 which at the time was 100yrs old. It's fun getting these guns to shoot again. There seems to be quite a few sniders. I'm the only one I know who hunts with them though

Look twice, shoot once.
Good job and well done !
Next year will be a 1886 kropateschek rifle and possibly a snider.
That is completely awesome, congrats and great job.
Awesome rifle and taking game with it is icing on the cake
