    9.3x62 Mold

I have a CZ550 FS in 9.3x62 coming and I want to make up some boolits. I cast for my ml's, pistols and rifles so I am far from a expert but not a newby. This caliber is new to me and I need the wisdom of this forum to choose a good mold for caliber. I want a gas check design which will work well with a 8.5:1 twist. I am open to all suggestions and appreciate all responses.

NOE 280 works for me. Plain based, gas checked, lubed, powder coated, slow or fast.

Some base powder coated and typical 3 shot 100 yd group @1900 w/Varget from light bbled Ruger No. 1S with 6x scope.

Lucifers, are you loading those into a 9.3 x 74R? If so I might check out NOE for a new boolit. Which specific mould is it that you are using? And if your shooting them in a Ruger No. 1, what are you sizing them to. Ruger is groove dia @ .366 I think.

isn't 1-8.5 pretty fast for the twist rate? ive not heard of this cartridge in anything faster than 1-12, plus, the 550FS in 9.3X62 is 1-14. I have been studying/ obsessing over this rifle/ cartridge for like 2 years, ask anyone around here , lol- Travis. PS try accurate molds before you commit to the noe, even though I have heard it is good, accurate just has some other examples, for instance the 37-280TB,37-285c, and 37-286c.

I found this youtube video on the same rifle that I have on layaway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSH2-3kYyXg&t=292s
This guy states that his rifle has a 1:10 twist. Anyway I look at it, I am thrilled that I finally getting this rifle. My CZ550 FS collection will grow another 33%.

    Yup it's a 1S in 9.3x74.

NOE only makes one 9.3 mold

I put on the GC, dip em' bake em and shoot them ---- no sizing. You can only dip em as shown w/PC as full coverage won't clear the throat.

If a skinny bbl big bore shoots 1" groups I am happy (It does the same with Hornady Factory 300 gr loads)

As for 9.3 CZ twist: http://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/show...d-Barrel-twist

    Here's a headache on twist: http://stevespages.com/page8e.htm

I got a sizer die from buckshot that was a .369 so I could try to see if my rcbs mould I use for my 375 Win could be sized down and used in my Ruger. Here is a image of the results. Had already lubed and gc'd the boolit before running through die, nice and smooth no issues at all.

    [/QUOTE]

images of the before on the right, and the new resized on the left. Before sizing length was .978, dia was .376. After length is .995 and dia is .369. Can't wait to try them out to see how they function in the Ruger No 1.
Nice to have another boolit in the 260 grain range for a stable mate to the mould I got years ago from NEI. Which I still have not found a good GC to fit it yet.

yoshie, have you tried any specific boolits from CBE? I think the 300 or 310 truncated cone design looked cool
