Do you know who made this one? Thanks.
That looks like a newer barrel assy as long as it times right should be no problem.
its been re-barreled.
Like I said the ole boy I got from was a shooter..
Have you shot it? Does the ram slide into the chamber easily when the lever is lowered? How are the chambers and the bore - any pitting or rough spots? Thanks.

Looks good to me. I'd add it to my collection if I wasn't already Walker-heavy. Good price too! Somebody needs this fun shooter.
KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.
Just a FWIW: I've never owned a Walker, but do and have owned most other popular (percussion) revolver reproductions. I am very fond of the sport, if not especially good at it. Many of you probably already know this, but until the advent of the .357 Magnum, the .44 Walker was considered to be world's most powerful production revolver! I'm an 1858 Remington man myself, but the big Walker - at least in terms of ballistics - beats the Remmy hands down, generally being considered to be (depending on loading) somewhere between .38 Spl. and .357 Mag.
I never carry or use my BP revolvers for defensive use (having many more capable, modern weapons), but if all I had was one of my 1858s (or a big Walker), I'd hardly feel unarmed.
Best regards

I would have to add.. If anyone was carrying a Walker or any of the slightly smaller Dragoons for defensive use they will be a far stouter feller than I am. There is a reason these huge revolvers were know as "Horse Pistols". You need a horse to haul them around all day especially if carried in pairs.

More information on it and answers to questions would be appreciated.
Once again . . .
Have you shot it?
What is the condition of the bore and chamber? Any rust or pitting?
If it locks up tight and is perfectly aligned chambers to bore ) . . . how have you determined that?
Does the loading ram enter the chamber with no problems or hang ups when the loading lever is lowered?
Yes . . it may look good but it is a "marriage". The barrel assembly is numbered different than the frame. It wold be nice to know the maker - the reason? Because ASM is known for soft internals.
Mind you . . . I'm not "knocking' the revolver in any way . . . but it would be nice to know fore about it. Just because it was bought from a "Cowboy Shooter" doesn't cut the water for me as far as any work done on the action. What was said about it when you bought it as far as why the barrel assembly is not original to the frame?
I was possibly interested in the revolver for a "shooter" but the lack of information on it makes me hesitant.
I've been shooting BP revolvers for 55 years and have shot just about every model that Colt made - either original or reproductions. The Walker is a unique and good revolver and this one probably is as well but some additional information would be helpful to a prospective buyer. Also, what payment methods do you accept?
