    To be fair, the Lebel has the same straight short stubby bolt and 90 degree throw. Not that you couldn't pound either of them open should they get frozen shut.
    It's only hubris if I'm wrong.

    When I was a Kid, I saw several MN's that had been engraved very nicely.
    My dad said that when they were shipped out of Korea, and sent to Japan or the other islands like Okinawa , if you had a captured rifle you could pay some of the local engravers to fancy it up for you.
    And they did it really cheap, because after WW2 there wasnt much work .
