I use the same bullet in my .300BO, at about same speed, powder coated. Haven't shot a deer or pig with it yet.
I have, however used it over 24.0gr #2400 in '06, and 30.0gr RL15 from .30/30 to drop deer.
I prefer the Lee 150gr FNGC at .311" @160gr, however (Marlin M336). It cycles much better through the action than the 170. (Mine casts to 178gr).
I prefer the .338ME, or .35Rem, however. They flinch more at the hit, an the blood trail is wider.
