    AR trigger recomendation

I would like to spend about $125 on a better trigger for my son's AR. It does not matter if it is a single or double stage trigger. Looking for something reliable but with little or no creep and a pull weight of about 3.5 to 4.5 lbs.

He has a DPMS ORC so it is not a high end AR. It seems silly to put a $250 trigger on a $375 gun (yes, that is what we paid for it when they had the rebates and put them on sale).

Thanks for any help on this.

That is what sparked my question. But which one should I get? And why?

Spend the money on ammo and practice with the trigger you have. If it wins wars and keeps our troops safe, it's not that bad.
The most expensive trigger available still needs practice to make you proficient. Unless the particular trigger is faulty, it will do the intended job, if you do your part....

I like the RRA NM triggers for the cost.
I have a unknown manufacture single stage that's 2# for bench shooting one shot at a time I like it but it's to touchy for me shooting rapids.

i dont have one, and havent shot one, but the larue mbt is supposed to take care of most of the original triggers shortcomings and is right in your budget.

I am a fan of the JP triggers in my AR. They Have a great feel and clean break. They go for around $120 and come as a kit that anyone drop in.

Use the Jewel trigger in my AR-15 rifles for high power shooting. Use Jewel triggers in my Remington bolt guns also.

ALG enhanced trigger is great if you like a simple single stage trigger. About 60 bucks and they'll surprise you. If you don't mind set screws the timney has a really crisp break.
And just for your info... casting with a single cavity is about as close as you can get to zero production, while still having some production. -- Whitespider

I have a Rock River match trigger in the rifle I use for woodchuck slaughtering . The Colt HBAR has a Jewel in it , both work very well . I'd say the Rock River is a great value at least if the quality is the same as this ten year old trigger I have .

They are way under your price range, but I used Palmetto enhanced triggers in my last 2 lower builds. Can't tell any difference between them and the ALG enhanced I used for a prior one. Palmetto has them on sale for $30. You'll need a new spring to get the low pull weight you want. I'm happy with mine with the springs they come with.

I'm a fan of Hiperfire triggers the 24C or Eclipse is trigger bliss! They are however a bit more expensive but they have some that are cheaper.

The ALG is cheap, tough, better than Milspec.

LaRue MBT is a great 2 stage trigger.
