    Dog bite

I know the model is RF and not RD but I can't help saying "ranch dog". This afternoon at 4:30 I saw this one heading my way. He got closer and began to eyeball me as I sat with my back against an old oak tree. It took awhile but he finally turned broadside. The shot was about 50 yards and my Rem 700 in 30.06 was sighted in at 100 yards with this NOE 311165 / 4895 combo. I pushed the safety off and bang flop. No tracking required.

My 4th deer with cast in 5 years of hunting with cast. 2 with 30.30 and the noe 311165 rf, 1 with 44 mag and the noe 432265 rf and now this one with my 30.06 and the noe 311165 rf.

Thank you NOE and the fine folks here that have helped me on this journey.

165 gr bullet plus check. 29 gr 4895 but I don't know what fps that equates to, no chronograph.

I'd still like to know what the fps is. Kind of curious myself. Anyone have data that would show fps or ballpark for this round? (30.06, 165gr cast, 29gr 4895)

Seemed to work well enough even at his 30-30 velocity...

About 18-1900 fps would be my guess, a semi educated guess, but a guess nonetheless.

    in the 1850 zone.
the above recipe of round about ww alloy, 165grs of weight with a flat nose, and 18-2000 fps is a stone killer on deer out to @ 125yds.
your not gonna get any better dead from a copper wrapper at another 7-800 fps.
