Trifecta, Noe 36-230, 358 Win, and me.

Took a nice 4 x 4 at a solid 100 yards tonight. First time I heard the 'thwack' when the bullet hit! Savage rifle I put together, home cast boolets and our own corn fed whitetail buck.Click image for larger version.

I heard the 'hit' , he walked a few steps and I took a second shot thru some small trees. He fell over dead, pretty sure my second shot Missed? Hit behind the front shoulder, in front of the diagram, took a rib going in and 2 going out. NOE 36-230 with a really big flat point cast at 12 bhn. Canned venison, pepperoni sticks, and summer sausage coming up! hc18flyer

Nice buck and taken with one of my favorite 35 caL. boolits. It definitely puts the smack down on them! CONGRATS.

congrats! it's the year of the 35s for me. gun season i was out with the Rem 700 in 35w, and the NOE 180 cup point. no luck yet. have doe season yet for an opp with that rifle, or our alternative season with the super 14 contender in 35 rem with the same bullet.

Congrats! Nice buck. I'm an easterner so pardon my ignorance but, I thought that would be considered a 5x5....or a ten point?

I'm hunting with the same combo. Savage 358 win JES three groove. 50/50 with some tin water dropped soft pointed with a torch. 43 grains of leverevolution in an old piece of converted LC brass. Shot coyote the other day and ready to sink it into a buck myself.

    Nice buck!

Is that the NOE 358-318 that is a nominal 245g .35 cal?

We would call it a 4 x 4, we don't count the brow tines. It is the NOE 360-230-RF bullet. The big flat nose doesn't feed well, so my second shot is the RCBS 35-200, which feeds fine in my Savage. Tom
