    Antimony alloy?

So for the last year I have been using water dropped 50/50 pure lead/COWW for my 45acp. Well I'm out of clip ons and can't get ahold of any but I do have close to 120lbs of pure lead. I just spend the last 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get between 12-16bhn out of pure lead alloyed with rotometals super hard alloy. My best guess is 3lbs of pure lead and 1 lbs of super hard and water dropped should get me there with about 8% sb. Are my numbers way off? Please somebody smarter than me help lol.

Buy some COWW form the Captian I think it's basically $1 pound + shipping and stay with what you know.
You could go 2 parts pure to 1 part COWW and end up with 9.5 bhn which is plenty for 45 ACP

8% antimony is more like 18bhn.
3% antimony is more what your looking for. [for @ 11bhn with a little tin added]

you been running probably 1.25-1.5% with your 50-50 mix.
after waiting them out a month or so after water dropping your getting your 15-16 bhn.

I thought without the arsenic that I would have to double down on the antimony. You are correct though, when I water drop them I cast close to 2,000 at a time over a long weekend so they do get to age harden a lot. I will try the 3% added and see what happens. I'll order some this weekend and see what happens. Thanks for the help y'all.

the grain refiner will help you get more BHN air cooled or water dropped.
you can replace the arsenic with some sulpher.
your looking at .1-.2 type numbers but they do kick in about 2 BHN when combined with the antimony.
remember BHN isn't the end all.
