    You realize that any of the -03 family would do about as well, right? .30-03, .30-06, .270, .308, .243, etc.

    308 family would be superior for 1911's due to the extractor groove (TBH 30-06 do seem to work OK though)

    I've had excellent results with 7.62x51 blanks for donor's . 200 !!! , man there's a winter project.
    Also,IMO they cycle better if NOT annealed.

    I have 40+ .308 cases that I cut off, sized in an ACP die and then sized the front in a .44 mag die. That is so they'd fit into the throat of a 1917 for maximum case length. More shot that way.

    I also lathe turned the rims/extractor grooves to allow for moon clipping.

    I'll ship 'em to you for $22 if you want.

    I have about 100 commercial range pickup 308 .10 each plus sfrb shipping I would have to count them to get a good total
