    4th generation bowkiller

My 14 yr old grandson took his first deer with a bow Saturday. My Dad's first was in 1965, mine in '70, my sons '92 and '95 respectively. This made my 47th year with a recurve and still turns my crank but this was pretty exciting for us both.

good deal. looks like the shot was on the money. IMO hunting with a bow is much more rewarding than with a gun. takes a bit more skill and patience too.

Hey Blanket, You say Dang rotator cuff. I have heard people say that they were too old to have it fixed. One of them was 47 years old. I had my rotator cuff repaired in 2005 at 71 years old. It took six months to get up to drawing 62 pounds again. Just sayin.
Congratulations 14 year old grandson. I was in my 50s before I killed a deer with my bow. I am still bowhunting.

Congratulations. I've been using a crossbow since they legalized them here a few years ago, but I hate it. I think I'm gonna pull the long bow off the wall and start working with it again this year in prep for next year. Not sure I'm still strong enough for meaningful practice, a 65 lb draw weight seems a lot these days.

Congratulations to your Grandson! And to you and your Son for raising him that way. None of mine are that old yet, but the 9 year old Grandson killed his first deer last year with a rifle. The Guys at camp made a big deal out of it and he walked on air for days!
