    WTB Men's Leather Belt

We used to have a member that offered these once per year around Christmas. Is anyone here still hand making a quality stitched heavy 1.5" leather belt with a "man type" buckle?

I don't think I want a tooled belt, but would like something plain, heavy, stitched, and with a brass buckle. I should be able to get something good in the $40-$65 range I would think. Something that will last years and if I hang my 1911 off of it from time to time, it wont roll or sag on me.

You don't want stitched, you want heavy, full grain leather.

At least, I prefer heavy duty, and thin, stitched leather aint.

The reason for the stitching is to use 2 thinner pieces of leather back to back so you have smooth leather on both sides. Stitching a solid leather belt doesn't do anything for the strength. My belts are one piece, and I make the carry belts out of thicker 12 oz leather, compared to my regular jeans belt. I prefer using a center bar buckle so you don't need
a keeper, but it is available.

My brother builds holsters, cartridge carriers, knives and scabbards. I keep the learner project belt he made for me fifty years ago, precious memento. Yesterday told me he was in a rush doing holsters for a 1911 and a Desert Eagle.

I have recently purchased a couple of the Hanks belts and they are the best leather belts that I have.
