Check the Lyman Cast Bullet Manual and the GMDR.COM site for many listings for light loads using a wide selection of powders.
Just be sure that you understand how to avoid double charges.

The Unique loads you mentioned would be considered mild loads. I have shot thoes loads for years. If you want less recoil shoot boolits in the 300 gr class. Lyman has a 292 gr 45-70 mold.

Think I will stay with Unique for now. Might even shoot a deer next weekend with it! If so you may hear the shouts all the way to your house

For some reason, I can't get into coated bullets. Reminds me of a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender parade gathering

Knowledge I take to my grave is wasted.

I prefer to use cartridges born before I was.

Success doesn't make me happy, being happy is what allows me to be successful.

Friends have commented about my rainbow bullets, complaining I don't have any pink ones yet.
I've loaded some sharp looking rounds, but have yet to pull the trigger on one.
I'm just too "old school" I guess.
I like my dutch oven biscuits well buttered, eggs bacon fried, and grits made white with cream, yellow with butter and blackend with ground pepper..

I want to see blue steel, wood stocks, and lead bullets.

Grandad never saw a pink bullet.

Whatever color these things shoot good. Didn’t see a deer though!
