    WTS: 8x56R Dies and Brass

I have a set of Hornady series IV full length dies new in the box and 100 pcs of PPU brass new in the package for sale. I would prefer to sell these together. I'm asking $125 shipped. Payment by USPS money order. The first I'll take it followed by a PM. Grafs lists the dies for $75 and the brass for $80.

    Thanks.

Just a BTT and a thought.

My experience in reloading my Model 1895 Steyr straight-pull in 8X56R has been very rewarding. Mil-spec (old and expensive) and modern Hornady ammo, in those light carbines, kick like a demented mule. Using cast bullets (Lee makes a .329 mould and a sizing die for it) and light-to-mild loads and those good-lookin' irons purr like a contented cat.
Privi Partizan makes FMJBT "j" word bullets that work fine and are available from various on-line vendors. Similarly, they can be used to make tame loads. I believe soft-nose, hunting bullets are available but I'm not a hunter.

The accuracy from that little, short-barreled carbine was just astonishing. The cast bullets shot small groups and the FMJBT's just a wee bit better. Will definitely give you "style points" at a vintage rifle match.

    Just my 2 cents.
