First and second recovered Noe 454-255 rf with cup hp

This was supposed to be a picture of a big doe and a recovered boolit but the site won't let me upload pics for some reason.

On my deer the shot went through both shoulders and left an egg sized lump in the hide on the far side. I'm too tired to measure and weigh it tonight but I'll guess it to be above .700 and very close to original weight. It only mushroomed to the bottom of the HP and is very flat from hitting both shoulder blades.

She did the stiff-legged run for 20 yds and went down in a pile.

A few minutes earlier up on the ridge my buddy used the same load on a forked horn buck. First shot in the crease behind the shoulder. Exit wound showed expansion. Deer staggers and turns to face him. Second shot hits center of chest and breaks the left hip ending up in the hide beside the genitals. It had flared out to about .50 cal or a little smaller. It had covered 30/36" of deer and still had enough oomph to break the hip. Deer turned broadside and the third shot landed close to the first. It fell over before he could get a fourth.
It was dead from the first shot it sometimes takes a minute for it to soak in.

Ive been pleased with this boolit so far. All other deer so far had exit wounds with apparent expansion. I really like exit wounds but Ive found if you break both shoulders you don't really need a blood trail.

Stats. 45 colt, noe 454-255 rf, 8.5 gr unique, 950 fps. Bhn 10

I believe this boolit is as accurate as the lee 452-255 rf which is the most accurate I've shot out of my gun. It is no more accurate than the lee but it leaves a better exit wound than the lee.

Sorry about the no pics. It just tells me the upload failed.

This is my nephew with a doe he shot with his Ruger bisley. He's shooting the same loads as me.

This is his recovered boolit. Entered in front of left hip and lodged in the hide in front of right shoulder.

Nice, the only bullet I have ever recovered is a hornady 160FXT out of a 30-30 and it was this year the doe was the biggest I have ever shot(we got 117lbs of meat out of her) the shot was around 225 yards and she dropped and had all four legs up in the air the core separated from the jacket and the jacket was stick half way through the hide...terrible blood shot mess.....

This bullet is a dandy. It is exactly what I am using this year out of a Rossi 92 and a Henry '66, using the same 8.5 gr of Unique as you. I hope I can post a similar thread by the end of the season. You did great!

The alloy is not very scientific. About 50/50 WW- pure with a scootch of tin. Bhn of about 10
