    powder coat cling

    Anyone ever try this:
Mist the boolits with contact cement, or poly, or clearcoat, or hairspray. that way they have a slight bit of tack to them. Then tumble.

    would it work?

I know the first post is gonna say.. you try it and post the results

I was just brainstorming, and ain't casting anytime soon.
Come and take them, Boolits first.

Haven’t had a problem with shake and bake in a #5 container an blk air soft BBS.
Don’t see a need to change it up! My 2 cents!

Why? Shake and bake works just fine.

Adding extra stuff would be asking for problems with the powder adhereing. I do not want to be baking contact cement or any of the other items at 400 degrees.

How's this... Don't try it. You're only asking for problems.

I'd rather have a video, hairspray is pretty volatile.
but the idea does sound like it has possibilities.

    spray them down.
dump them in a bowl with some powder.
knock off the excess and cook.
it would sure simplify things, especially humidity issues, and having to buy the BB's.

Why? Because shake and bake doesn't work for everyone.
It wasn't that long ago people asked why powdercoat.. Alox and wax work just fine.

Somewhere way back in the PC thread an OP used some makeup or craft glue and it worked OK, just extra coast.
    Whatever!

Who doesn't it work for? I live in Iowa where it can reach 100% humidity outside and 70% or higher inside with the AC on. I can get powder coat to work. It just takes some extra effort. The quality of the PC has a huge effect on how well it works.

Alox never worked just fine. Many people had constant leading problems myself included.

I would love to see the results, I can picture lumpy/blotchy boolits.
Yes, a video would be interesting. not really sure how some of those things would react to being baked.

Why in the world would anyone try anything new ? Its been proven by the experts you have to use black BBs a certain bowl and high grade powder that is how its done anyone trying to do it any other way is just wasting everyone time. Notice the tone ?
Guys how many ways have we tired to see what works and what fails, Somethings work for one guy and not another. Rabbit holes I think not, Different way of looking at a problems.
Are we here to help each other or are we here to tear others down for thinking different, The only stupid ? is the one not asked well that is what I hear lets keep that in mind.
Take a min and look at your comments, Were they helpful ? Were they a ? or request or were they something else.

    You guys are no fun...

Where I come from (and still am) in California, Crazy is a renewable resource, SO, let's see what I can come up with... Hair Spray eh? Like Aquanet? I might need to go to LA to get that... Let's see what comes of it. I have a spray adhesive photomount, but I think the Aquanet or hairspray might be better. I would try it with the emerald green since it is poor single coat. Better as a two part coat. Let's see if some hairspray can make it into a single coat color... COMPLETE with smash test. I will do it on a medium sized pill.

Gimmie a day or two to get this setup between my work schedule and my baking.

If you are using some 2-component powder then you may try wetting the boolits with compatible catalyst or resin. This would work as sticking agent and later would react and become part of the coating..
