    Broken mainspring

Last week while firing, my armi sports/ Taylors 1874 sharps sporting rifle failed. Hammer would not disengage. When I got it home and broke it down I found main spring had snapped about an inch behind the stirrup on hammer. I ordered a new one from Taylors Sunday ,online , and it will be here Thursday.
The problem is, when I disassembled it , the broken part fell out and I can't tell exactly how it fit. I got the rest of mainspring out but I can not find any tutorial on how to replace it. The nearest gunsmith( that's real gunsmith ) is 100 miles away. I can usually do simple repair stuff but usually can find out how on YouTube or something.
Anybody know where I could find something. Just a picture of the mainspring in place would be helpful. Thanks for any help

Look for schematics on other 1874 Sharps and hope your rifle is a direct copy and you can use a schematic from Shilo, Pedersoli. Do a google search on line for those schematics and try You Tube again using the brand name of other makers of 1874 sharps rifles. If it is a "V" shaped hammer spring, you may have to use a spring compressor to compress the spring to install it in the rifle.
