    Mossberg 500 safety.

I recently traded for a Mossberg 500 12 ga, and found it has a broken plastic safety button. A quick search of the net found some cheap plastic replacements, and some tacti-cool gee whiz, but no good options. I'm looking for a good, metal replacement. Nothing fancy, just a fix it once and be done with it. Any ideas where I might find this? Thanks in advance.

Mine did the same thing...the plastic cracked. Brownell's had an aluminum replacement for under $10. This was some 15-20 yrs ago. The aluminum has held up well.

Had the same thing happen on a new 20 gauge. Brownells has them in three different styles.

    Brownells has many different replacements.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.

I took the claw from an old Weaver scope ring, smoothed it, and cold blued it. Still working 20 years later!

I replaced 1 of mine with an aluminum one I got off ebay. Believe it was $10 and has a nice raised ledge on it that makes it A LOT easier to work with gloves on. But brownells does sell an aluminum stock replacement.

I made one for one of my Mossbergs with nothing more than a Hacksaw a drill and a file.
THEN, I found the metal replacements on Midway and Brownell's for all the other shotguns with plastic ones I had that were cracked or broken.
But before that, all I had found was the Plastic replacements, that I was afraid would fail like the original, in a very short period of time.
