    plans/patterns needed

I need a pattern/plan for making a leather lock cover for my new flintlock and for making a case for a looong gun out of a wool blanket. I haven't even begun to look, would Track of the Wolf carry such plans?

For the blanket wool cover...fold a blanket in half and lay the rifle on the blanket at the fold line. Then take a piece of chalk and draw around the lower half of the rifle... as the frnch say viola! Cut along the chalk line and and fringe and sew. Alternative spend 10 bucks at Crazy Crow for a fancy pattern.

I made a pair of "covers" for my long guns out of a sort of burlap material and then stuffed one of those gun socks inside for real protection. The way I did it was to measure the length of the gun and add about a foot. The material is generally 40 to 50 inches wide so when I bought it, I laid out the material, laid the rifle on it, then folded the material over it to get a width. I held the edge in place with some weights then cut what I needed. Any material like that can be sewed with a machine but it is hard. Turn so seam is inside then run the gun sock down in. I wrap the opening over the butt stock and wrap with an old leather boot shoe lace. No pattern needed really.

Thank you. I went to Track of the Wolf and found what I needed for the Cows knee. Also found that they have pre-made covers for only a little bit more than what an Army Surplus blanket would cost and save me all that sewing! Christmas list started.
