starting some hunting bullets now.. i already got a few lunch meat tubs filled with the 130gr varmint bullets that should keep me pest controlling for the next 20 years..
the one pictured now is one i just popped out with the new die i just made and got polished about 3 hours ago. this is a 160gr flat base soft point.. turned out better than i though it would for the first try at a soft point. i still gotta make a pointing die to point the lead extrusion on the end to make the soft point, i used an electric drill and a piece of copper flashing and spun the end on this one just to see how it would look. not to bad if i say so myself... i figure this design and weight should be good for pretty much anything in central Alabama that i want to hunt.
but here is a picture of my new point forming die made from a piece of 1045/50 hydraulic cylinder rod..
the bullet beside it is just one i cranked out as soon as i got it polished just for testing purposes..
