Never had an issue with Lyman #2 not expanding in a deer... or not leaving a good blood trail. Helps if I hunt the MN rifle zone it usually has snow so tracking is a piece of cake. Not that any deer has ever gone far, most drop where shot. Had 2 that managed 50 yards in a cedar thicket, not that one sucked bad because you had to literally crawl to get through it, walking was impossible and no clue how the dang deer could run in that stuff! And MN deer are large, both were bucks that went 225+ field dressed.
