    Got a Few Hanging

Bow season opened up Oct 1st for Michigan so we’ve been busy sticking apple thieves full of arrows! We’ve got 4 hanging in the apple cooler right now. That’s the most we’ve had this early in... well weve never had this many hanging in bow season!

My friend shot this dandy 7 point with a 17” inside spread 2 weeks ago and my mom and brother each took a doe to fill the freezer.

And just this morning (10-20-17) my brother in law took a small 7 point with a crossbow.

I’m hoping they save me a few for rifle season!

Congrats! Looks like you have the freezer filled. Kansas will only allow me two deer this year unless I drive a long ways to another management area I'm not familiar with. I usually only kill two a year, but I usually also keep buying tags and end up with one or two unfiilled. I went out during the two day segment they did a couple of weeks ago (antlerless only) and shot a good doe, but I could have tagged out the first hour or so of that morning. Gonna start with the crossbow now. I really don't want to shot the first buck that comes along, I'd kind of like to get another decent one. Funny, for a long time, I wasn't concerned about antlers, now I don't want to shoot small ones.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any, either.......so I'll post one of the 6 point buck I took Wednesday AM. Mission "Sniper Lite" X-bow, Rage Hypodermic broadhead, Easton "Bloodline" 22" carbon bolt.

We have a 3 point rule in Arkansas.....I passed up five, before I took this one. Still have one buck tag and 4 antlerless. One more deer will be plenty for the wife and I, so I'll be very selective. Muzzle loading starts today, but it's trying to rain and more on the way for Sunday. I'll go out Monday morning with the 54 Renegade.

Nice deer, Winelover! I can't see the original pics either. I think photobucket maybe charging for hosting pics for use on forums now, but most forums are allowing uploads so new stuff should be fine, but it seems to have killed a lot of old pictures. Not sure why the first viewers could see them, but now they can't. Sorry for the drift, but I am interested if anyone has anymore details on this subject.

Very nice. My brother bagged a nice young doe this morning with his 500 S&W using my Lee 250gr REAL load.
This is a mild load using 12gr Unique. This is his 2nd with this load.

After the first I suggested he use the 440gr with 13gr Unique because the 250gr REAL with it's cone point acts too much like a FMJ at such slow velocity but the meat is in the cooler so what can I say.

The shot was 100 yards to boot. He uses optics basically because he's too old to use open sights.

If you are using Photobucket, only you can see them if you don't pay them 400 dollars so others can view.
