I finally Tried out my H&R young american 32 S&W ...magtech ammo colored my finger

I shot about 25 rounds through it and quickly learned to shoot it one handed. Didn't hurt at all but I'm sure this is lead? My finger was bright silver. Is magtech ammo moly coated? Shooting single handed I still had a little residue on me. Made sure to scrub my hands till it all came off.

Are you wrapping the weak hand around the strong hand fingers, or are you hooking the weak finger around the front of the trigger guard where you will get gas from the cylinder gap. Keep the finger out of the way of the cylinder gap or pick bits of brass and lead out of your cuts.

Revolvers can blow the soot and smoke and make your hands look like you were playing in gun powder - and you are. Every round we shoot has residue to spare. Fortunately most rounds burn up the residue up in the barrel and not to much on our hands. Some loadings just do a poor job of burning the residue and as a result we absorb it. As mentioned keep your fingers clear of the cylinder gap to avoid hot gas, unburned powder residue, lead shavings and assorted junk.

As small as that revolver is you are doing the best thing in firing one handed. I have a couple of revolvers with tendencies to get a lot of residue on me and of course it is worse with reduced power loads than with a good consistent loading that burns the powder thoroughly. Sounds counter intuitive but maybe the mag tech load is not the best for 32 S&W. Good luck in your search for a cleaner burning load.
