    460 Rowland

I have a Ruger SRH chambered in 45 colt it's also cut for moon clips to shoot acp. Is there a good reason I can't shoot 460 Rowland?

Yes, 460 works in it. I have heard that 45acp, 45 Super, 460 Rowland and 45 win mag work with 0 issues. I must admit I don't have one but there was a magazine artical that came out just after they were released and they tried all of them in the artical. I have been thinking of picking one up after I get some other projects completed, I think it would make a great hog gun.

Just get Starline 45 Super brass and load it to Rowland specs it's the same brass only shorter.

Not only will it work, it offers interesting possibilities not available when firing the Rowland from an autoloader, most notably the ability to ignore O.A.L. when seating bullets and the ability to load even heavier slugs that can be used in autos.

My only question is "why" considering the closer the bullet is to the chamber mouth, the more accurate it will likely be, and loading your own .45 Colt ammo isn't any more expensive than .460R. I guess the ability to use Moon clips, but you can have your cylinder cut to accept .45 Colt in Moon clips too.
