    T/c bore butter

    Has anyone tried melting t/c bore butter down to liquid to saturate rb patches?

    T/C bore butter works OK. I use MelFry cooking oil. Works as well and you can buy it by
    the quart or the gallon sizes. It don't go rancid and is good for lubing after cleaning.

    I just rub it into the patch material until it saturates it. I don't think it is any messier than dipping patches in a melted lube and your hands smell fairly nice...certainly better than old engine grease leaves them smelling....

    I used bore butter on a big bag of patches 30 years ago. Put them in a zip bag and still using them. I don't shoot the side lock much anymore but I have patches ? lol

    Am I correct that T/C Bore Butter is mostly coconut oil?
